Country Cow Creamery first opened it's doors in 2002. We are a family owned and operated business and like communities, families work together. As a family committed to education, (two of the owners are New Jersey Certified Elementary Education Teachers), we offer educational tours and informational sessions to schools, organizations, and scouting troops. Our store can accommodate up to 50 people and our tours will allow 15 to 20 guests in our kitchen at one time. We are conveniently located off of Saint George Avenue (Route 35) in Rahway, and we are close to the Parkway and Route 1 and Route 9. Our rear parking lot can accommodate large buses. Please click on this link Directions for a printable sheet of directions to our facility. Educational Tours Country Cow Creamery offers scouting troops, schools and organizations two types of educational tours. Visitors learn about the history of ice cream, dating back to the Romans. Each tour includes a visit to our kitchen where an overview into our ice cream production process is given. Tour planners can also choose a package that allows visitors to witness and sample ice cream in the making. It's yummy fun. Visitors to our store also learn about how a business is run, how decisions are made, how disagreements are resolved, and how a family is like a team, working together each day. In addition, our tour discusses community and how it plays a key role in business development. Please scroll down to see our two tour packages that range from 45 minutes to one hour. All educational tours are created by a New Jersey certified K-8 teacher and connect to the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards.
